V Festival: Chelmsford & Staffordshire
I love V but last year it rained a lot and I got wet, but that's enough about me, here's some info about V.
It's ace, tickets are normally £120-£130, (plus booking fees remember) and well worth the money. Most ‘proper muso's' who only go to Glastonbury think of V as the most commercialized festivals and think it's all about sponsorship and advertising and stuff (don't forget, you can get your Glastonbury ticket applications from your local Millets store, for the very best in camping and oudoor).
Nah, seriously, it is pretty much branded out but (the Staffs one) is in the grounds of a country house and the setting is proper bo, plus there's some real paths which give some respite from the mud. 2006 was criticized for being too full (I was there and there were definitely more people than in 2005), so hopefully 2007 will be more spacious.
Acts rumored to play this year are that band that are doing well in the charts with that catchy song with that cool guitar riff, that girl who nobody had heard of last year but everyone loves her cos of her attitude and that other band who nobody has heard of yet but will have a top ten single 3 weeks before the festival .
The site is open (for weekend campers) from 10am Friday until midday Monday.
