Isle of Wight Festival
On the 8 th til the 10 th June so you can't go here and to Download but they do have lots of good bands and stuff and I'm told the atmosphere is good. It's the smaller of the main festivals (about 35,000 last year I believe), compared to about 150,000 at Glasto puts it into perspective. They have more of a dancey vibe here with more tents for dancing and dj's and stuff but also shed loads of good bands. To get to the idle of wight you need to go on a boat or in a helicopter if you've gotone. I haven't got one so I'd have to go in a boat. Now, I'm told that even though you have to go in a boat to get there it isn't actually a different country so you don't need your passport (phew, mine's expired!). You might want to take a phrase book however just in case. Because the Isle of Wight isn't on mainland Britain it means the sun might actually shine, so you'll need suncream, but as it s still the same country, you'll also need a kagool!
